A
growing bank of photocopiable investigations is available, which teachers
can use with a class to introduce them to new areas of Maths using an
investigative approach. Very comprehensive teachers notes help the
teacher to guide the pupils through a topic, in such a way that they
'discover' key concepts and relationships for themselves. As well as
being more fun than simply learning rules and practising them, this
approach to Maths encourages in pupils to have a more questioning attitude
and helps them to understand the 'Why?' behind what they are being taught.
